After Trump stood before media from a podium, Hispanic reporter Jorge Ramos rose to ask a question about immigration. However, Trump wouldn’t acknowledge Ramos, who is anchor of Univision’s national news broadcast and host of an English-speaking program on Fusion TV.
Ramos continued as Trump began prodding other reporters for questions, which led the presidential candidate to repeatedly tell the reporter to “sit down!”
When Ramos explained he had every right to ask a question, Trump snapped:
"No you don’t. You haven’t been called. Go back to Univision."
See it for yourself:
The Hispanic community responded negatively, as did Ramos’ Univision network, which cancelled its coverage of the Trump-sponsored Miss USA contest. Trump threatened to sue the Hispanic network, but never proceeded.
After the comment continued to cost him business deals, Trump issued a half-hearted apology, claiming “they love me!”
Seems like this recent incident might put him back in the “off again” category with Hispanic voters, however.
