That’s sort of like what South Carolina’s Nikki Haley is doing at the moment, but only in reverse—she’s using her cheesy career in politics as the avenue to enter the field of entertainment.
Haley recently announced she’s beginning her term by writing a book of memoirs.
So her first duties as governor are coming out as “ignore the new responsibilities and forget the budget debates—where’s my damn thesaurus?”
Then we learn Haley—already known to avoid local news cameras and only appear on national news—is now appearing in front of national television show cameras, too! That’s right, she made a cameo appearance on the latest episode of the Lifetime network’s “Army Wives,” which is filmed in Charleston. (Apparently, she put the thesaurus aside long enough to get the makeup for the scene.)
And the first thing that struck my mind when learning of her non-gubernatorial escapades was a forced comparison of Nikki to Arnie. They’re a complementing antithesis of one another, almost. Sort of like Superman vs. Bizarro … one moving in the opposite direction of the other … except they’re both on the same Republican side in this case!
But maybe there’s a plus to all of Haley’s unprofessional endeavors that inspire this comparison to Schwarzenegger. With such disregard for the office and her constituents, it should be clear that she’ll be a “One Term-inator!”
