Wildflower, a small restaurant tucked away in the town of Millville between the Delaware River and the Atlantic Ocean, just recently added this new item to its menu.
He came up with the idea the day before Sanders’ victory in the New Hampshire primary. Knowing Sanders isn’t vegan or vegetarian himself, Nyman told Philadelphia’s KYW-3, “Bernie seems to be open to considering new things and growing and extending his consciousness. We’re hoping he’ll realize that vegan is a good thing.”
The “Bernie Burger” (described on the menu as “yuuge”) is a hit at Wildflower, too, Nyman says. “The clincher is the first person to order it was wearing a Bernie shirt.”
Nyman’s Wildflower isn’t the first to come up with a culinary creation in honor of the Democratic presidential candidate. Ben & Jerry’s, operating in Sanders’ Vermont, launched a “Bernie’s Yearning” ice cream in January.
